Coalescer Filters

High‑Efficiency Protection for Critical Equipment

Dual-Function Coalescer Filters for Complex Applications

Coalescer filters are specialized filtration units designed to separate different phases within a fluid stream. Depending on the type of separation needed, they are divided into two main categories:

  1. Liquid / Gas Coalescer Filters

  2. Liquid / Liquid Coalescer Filters

Each type operates based on a specific mechanism and is widely used in industries such as oil, gas, petrochemicals, and refining.

Liquid / Gas Coalescer Filters

Liquid/gas coalescer filters are engineered to remove fine liquid droplets from a gas stream. The filter media is designed for inside-to-outside flow, which reduces velocity and enables the coalescence of fine liquid particles into larger droplets that can be separated efficiently.

Key Features:

  • High Separation Efficiency
Provides more than 99.9% weight-based separation efficiency for removing moisture and entrained liquids from gases.

  • Micron-Rated Media
Constructed with graded micron filtration layers to enhance fine droplet capture.

  • Optimized Flow Direction
The inside-to-outside flow direction slows down the gas velocity, promoting effective droplet coalescence.

  • Applications
    Ideal for use in:

    • Gas booster stations (before gas compressors)

    • Gas scrubbers

    • Amine and glycol filtration systems

    • Pre-filtration in desiccant and moisture-absorbing beds

Liquid / Liquid Coalescer Filters

Liquid/liquid coalescer filters are used to remove solid particles and free (emulsified) water from hydrocarbon-based fluids such as diesel, jet fuel, and light lubricating oils. These filters operate in three distinct stages:

Separation Process:

  1. Filtration
A pre-filter stage reduces solid contaminants that could clog or shorten the life of the coalescer.

  2. Coalescence
Tiny water droplets are captured by coalescing fibers, then merge into larger droplets through contact and collection.

  3. Separation
The larger water droplets are separated from the continuous phase, completing the purification process.

Key Features:

  • Multistage Functionality
Incorporates a three-stage process to ensure maximum purity of the output fluid.

  • Effective on Emulsions
Capable of breaking emulsions and removing free water without chemical additives.

  • Wide Industrial Use
Commonly used in oil & gas, aviation, power generation, and hydrocarbon refining operations.
